In past years, AAZK has supported the following organizations:
The Feather Distribution Project AAZK members collect molted parrot feathers and donate them to the project. The feathers are sent to the pueblos of the southwest for use in ceremonials.
The Waldrapp Team This project is working to save wild waldrapp ibis, and to re-introduce captive-raised birds into areas where they historically could be found.
The Schuylkill Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic The SWRC takes in injured or orphaned native wildlife with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. The clinic also does programs in the Philadelphia area to educate the public about wildlife.
The Clouded Leopard Project This organization supports a variety of projects designed to protect the endangered clouded leopard and the habitat it needs.
The World Parrot Trust The goal of the World Parrot Trust is to support conservation of parrots worldwide, and to serve as an educational resource about parrots.
Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research Tri-State is not only a rehabilitation facility for wild birds, it also maintains an oil response team, ready to go anywhere in the world it's needed to care for oiled birds.
The Conservation Committee also sets up educational displays at zoo events that focus on pressing conservation issues, and what people can do to help.
